At the end of the 19th century, Canada experienced a mobility revolution with the arrival of electric vehicles, coinciding with the electrification of homes and businesses. Popular in urban centers, these vehicles were seen as a clean, modern, and practical solution, despite being less powerful than gasoline-powered models. The invention of an electric vehicle in Toronto in 1893 even led to the creation of several Canadian companies in the sector.
