At Papillons, we want you to clearly know what personal information we collect on this site, why we collect it, and how you stay in control of it. This policy applies to the papillons.io website and works alongside our terms of use.
This site is operated by Papillons, 5820 Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal (Quebec) H2T 1T3. Papillons is notably the operator of the RechargÉco charging station network.
The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Benoit Collet, Marketing and Communications Manager. You can reach him through our contact form by specifying that your message concerns the protection of personal information.
We comply with the laws that apply to our activities in Quebec and Canada regarding the protection of personal information, including Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Bill 25), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) for our electronic communications.
Our charging station network serves users in Quebec and New Brunswick. If you access the site from another country, you may still write to us to exercise your rights. We will process your request in accordance with the law applicable to your situation.
With your consent where required by law (see section 6), we may collect: your IP address, information about your device, your operating system and browser, the pages you visit, and the links you click on.
If you fill out our contact form (for example for a media request, partnership inquiry, or general question), we collect: first name, last name, email address, phone number, company, postal code, and the content of your message.
We collect your first name, last name, and email address using the Cyberimpact tool. To confirm that the address belongs to you, a confirmation email is sent and you are only subscribed after clicking the confirmation link. Each newsletter contains an unsubscribe link.
By clicking on the offer, you leave our site for ChargePoint’s site. The information you enter there is collected by ChargePoint and is governed by its terms and privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. Papillons then receives your contact information from ChargePoint.
If you use the “Use my location” feature on the station map, your browser first asks for your permission. Your location is used solely to display the nearest stations while you use the map. We do not store it. The map module is provided by a third party whose practices are governed by its own policy.
We do not collect job applications through this site. Those submitted through external platforms (for example Indeed or LinkedIn) are subject to those platforms’ policies.
We only collect the information necessary for the purposes described in this policy. If we were to collect additional information, we would inform you beforehand.
By using this site, you acknowledge this policy. For anything beyond that (newsletter subscription, analytics and advertising cookies, geolocation), we ask for your separate consent. You can withdraw it at any time, as explained in section 11.

Analytics and advertising cookies are disabled until you accept them. You can accept, refuse, or modify your choices at any time through the cookie banner (“Cookie Settings” link), or by configuring your browser to block cookies. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent the use of the site.
Within Papillons, only people who need access to your information to perform their duties have access to it.

We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose it if required by law, as part of legal proceedings, to protect our rights, or in the context of a business transaction (for example, the sale of the company), in accordance with the law.
Cyberimpact stores newsletter data in Canada. Our hosting provider, GoDaddy, hosts the site; we do not store sensitive personal information there. Google, Meta, and LinkedIn may process data outside of Quebec, notably in the United States, which only applies if you accept their cookies. In such cases, we ensure that the transfer complies with legal requirements.
At the end of these periods, your information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: secure connection (HTTPS), limited access to authorized personnel, and use of providers that offer adequate protection guarantees. However, no transmission over the Internet is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a privacy incident posing a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec and the affected individuals, as required by law.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Our site is not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 14 years of age without the consent of the holder of parental authority. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us so that we may delete it.
Our site contains links to third-party sites (for example ChargePoint, LinkedIn, Facebook). We do not control their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
We may modify this policy, notably when we adopt new tools or new data uses. The update date at the top of the page indicates the version in effect. In the event of a significant change, we will notify you appropriately.
