Expert in ecological transition

and sustainable mobility

Papillons Infrastructure Nature is a young company founded in October 2023, driven by the EcoCharge project, initially developed within the organization Earth Day Canada. In light of the significant growth of the project and its impact on the electric mobility ecosystem, it quickly became essential to establish its own entity. This led to the emergence of Papillons, positioning it as a key player in the electric mobility sector in Canada.

What is the EcoCharge project?

To date, EcoCharge is the third-largest network of fast charging stations in Eastern Canada, with over 102 active charging ports and an additional 80 under construction, set to be available by 2025. The stations are installed in the parking lots of 51 IGA supermarkets in Quebec and New Brunswick (49 in Quebec and 2 in New Brunswick). Users can recharge their electric vehicles in just 20 minutes, making it convenient to do their grocery shopping during daily trips or to take a break during longer outings.

This project was launched in 2019 by the charity Earth Day Canada in collaboration with the Sobeys supermarket chain, IGA merchants, and the Fonds Éco IGA. In October 2023, Papillons Infrastructure Nature became the main manager of the network. Papillons is now responsible for the entire development and implementation of the network, manages all operations, and also promotes it.
