Founded in 1999, Moisson Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean is the region’s only food bank. It recovers, stores and redistributes foodstuffs to community organizations to improve food security for people in precarious situations.
In addition to contributing to the reduction of food waste through its supermarket recovery program and processing kitchen, the organization supports the autonomy of beneficiaries, offers training to caregivers and volunteers, and raises public awareness of the problem of hunger.
The sales made on the 22nd of each month at the charging stations located at IGA extra Chicoutimi in Chicoutimi are donated to them.
