Cap-de-la-Madeleine, January 29, 2025 – Papillons Infrastructure Nature, operator of the EcoCharge IGA network, and IGA extra Les marchés Sabrina & Benoît are pleased to announce the commissioning of two new fast-charging stations in Cap-de-la-Madeleine. These stations join the 106 fast chargers already installed in the parking lots of 52 IGA grocery stores across Quebec and New Brunswick.
In addition to offering ultra-fast charging stations capable of reaching 200 kW and simultaneously charging up to four vehicles, the configuration of the Cap-de-la-Madeleine charging site stands out for its universal design, providing accessible spaces for all types and sizes of vehicles. At a time when more companies are transitioning to electric and electric recreational vehicles are gaining popularity, such a charging setup—still rare in the public charging sector—provides a significant advantage. This innovation reflects Papillons Infrastructure Nature’s commitment to delivering tailored charging solutions, installed at the right time in strategic locations.
In addition to their commitment to the environment, the EcoCharge IGA charging stations in Cap-de-la-Madeleine are also dedicated to supporting the community: on the 22nd of each month, all revenue generated by these stations will be donated to the community organization Moisson Mauricie.
In 2025, EcoCharge IGA will add 20 additional sites and 80 new charging ports, proudly expanding the network to 182 ports across 71 sites! This second phase of the EcoCharge IGA deployment is made possible thanks to $9,000,000 in financial support from the Government of Quebec under the Private Sector Support Program for the Deployment of Public Fast-Charging Stations, part of the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.
